What is the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Katwijk? Probably fishing, while once this was the main source of income for the residents of Katwijk. The town still retains the characteristic atmosphere of days gone by, but these days Katwijk has a lot more to offer!

Katwijk aan Zee is a cheerful seaside resort with a population of over 60.000 people and numerous facilities for its residents, as well as the many tourists who visit Katwijk every year. In the attractive, modern village centre, you will find well-known national chain stores as well as small local shops. This makes Katwijk worth visiting all year round! The centre of Katwijk is only five minutes away from De Noordduinen.

There are plenty of things you can do in Katwijk: from walks in the dunes to sport events, from fireworks to Search and Rescue events. During summer there is a nice tourist market in the centre of Katwijk each Tuesday. On the third Saturday of August you can enjoy the passing of the flower parade of Rijnsburg.

Take a look in the Katwijk Museum, with its beautiful collection from painters who have ever been in Katwijk. You can still feel history here. Entrance tickets for this museum are for sale in the reception of De Noordduinen.

The yacht basin is also worth a visit. A pleasant day for you and your kids is guaranteed when you make a boat trip to the Kagerplassen with shipping company Rederij Triton.

But it is not only Katwijk aan Zee itself that makes a visit to Recreatiecentrum De Noordduinen worthwhile. Katwijk is centrally situated in the Randstad, which makes that the large cities in the Randstad are easy accessible. Also Keukenhof is only 15 kilometres away from De Noordduinen.
